Dayanand Vedic College, named after Swami Dayanand Saraswati, was established on 20th July, 1951, and it was the outcome of the joint assiduous endeavours of Late Sri Kishori Lal Khare (The Founder Principal), Late Sri Mool Chandra Agarwal, Late Sri Rama Shankar Saxena and Late Pt. Chaturbhuj Sharma. This College holds an unmatched image and a record of unparallel reputation in the whole Bundelkhand region, and it has continually and implicitly established a glorious tradition and new dimensions of qualitative excellence in the field of education. This is the only Degree College of Distt. Jalaun that has the P.G. status in Art, Science and Teacher Education faculties.
This institution encompasses well-equipped Labs, a huge Library containing a bulk of more than 60,000 books, well-decorated Reading Room with different latest magazines and academic journals, newly constructed Administrative Block and a big Play Ground with Stadium. The College is also noted for well-qualified and experienced teachers and a skilled, affable and mealy-mouthed ministerial staff, and for the outstanding facilities and ambient atmosphere of teaching and learning for more than 6000 students. The formerly Principal Late Dr. B.B. Lal Ji was one of the strongest pillars of this developmental process of the College. The name of a generous and pious soul of Late Sri Bhavani Shankar Ji will ever be remembered for his gracious gift donated to this College. Further more the names of Late Rai Saheb, Sri Kamtanath Saxena (Advocate) and Late Sri Baijnath Gupta (Advocate) will ever be cited for their great contribution to the sustained progress of D.V. College, Orai (Jalaun).
The College is situated at Orai, the District Head Quarter of Jalaun, U.P., 112 Km. to the south west of Kanpur towards Jhansi and is connected to road and railway routes.
